FIVE PATRIOTS EARN POSTSEASON AWARDS

Following a 19-5 season and a conference runner-up 2023-2024 season, five Marion boys basketball players earned postseason awards. Senior forward Jalen White and junior guard Lyndell Buckingham earned all-state nods, as well as all-conference honors. Senior guard David Brewer, junior forward Mikell Lewis, and sophomore swingman LaDaryl Robinson, Jr., also earned all-league nods. White garnered a second consecutive all-state selection this season as the three-year letterman turned in his best scoring season to date. He ranked first on the team in rebounding and second in blocks. Buckingham capped a second straight all-state year by leading Marion in scoring and assists while playing markedly improved defensive technique. Brewer wrapped up his second season as a starter as the team's most reliable three-point shooter while checking second on the team in assists. Lewis broke the team's starting lineup this winter with much-improved three-point range while remaining one of the team's more reliable perimeter defenders and rebounders. Robinson is already regarded as one of the state's top sophomore recruits, and he broke out this season, ranking third in scoring, and second in points and rebounds, while he displayed a reliable jump shot and passing ability.
