FOUR LADY PATRIOTS EARN POSTSEASON HONORS

After helping Marion to a 16-9 final record for the 2023-2024 season, four Lady Patriot basketball players earned postseason honors. Senior guard Ny'Asia Jackson earned a second straight all-state selection and a third consecutive all-conference nod. Junior Joniya Lewis, and sophomores Jada Cheers and Madison Glaspie also landed on the All-5A East team. Jackson capped a historic career as the four-year letter-winner eclipsed the 1,000-point total late this season. She paced the Lady Pats in scoring, assists, and steals as a senior. Lewis started most games this season as one of Marion's bigger players, and she paced the club in rebounds while finishing as one of the team's top scorers. Cheers started most of Marion's games this winter in the backcourt, and she did not disappoint, finishing in the top three in scoring and steals, while also becoming a reliable rebounder and defensive presence on the perimeter. Glaspie locked a starting role in the backcourt earlier this fall, and she emerged as one of the team's top three scorers, with an ability to score in the paint. She also finished second on the team in steals.
